Today's Prayer
Amos 7:7-17 “Taking Measure”
O God, we relate to you as Jesus does, as our Holy Parent. And so, we look to you for that by which we are to measure ourselves, to make sure we are in right relationship with you. To make sure that when we stumble over our sins, we don’t get stuck in them, lost in them. It is our hope and our prayer that when we look to you, you will provide that plumb line by which we can take measure. Your Holy Word is that sure measure for us, without a doubt.
Don’t leave us to eke out an existence with a poorly built foundation, and life-walls in peril of crumbling. We need you, and pray that you have mercy upon us, in a season of crumbling walls, for we are a people who have ignored you, and have not listened to your prophets. We are afraid and do not know how to rebuild our lives. We just know that we cannot do this rebuild without you. We beg you to put your plumb line at the very center of our lives, that we may flourish by your Word and your Love. Amen.
