A daily prayer during this COVID-19 crisis for September 12, 2020

September 12, 2020  A daily prayer during this COVID-19 crisis

During these difficult days, members of the Katahdin District of the New England Conference?are?sharing a daily prayer based on?the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.  You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.   In exitu Israel  1 Hallelujah!      When Israel came out of Egypt, *      the house of Jacob from a people of strange speech,  2 Judah became God's sanctuary *      and Israel his dominion.  3 The sea beheld it and fled; *      Jordan turned and went back.  4 The mountains skipped like rams, *      and the little hills like young sheep.  5 What ailed you, O sea, that you fled? *      O Jordan, that you turned back?  6 You mountains, that you skipped like rams? *       you little hills like young sheep?  7 Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, *        at the presence of the God of Jacob,  8 Who turned the hard rock into a pool of water *      and flint-stone into a flowing spring.                                                                                                        Psalm 114  Today’s prayer  God, when you brought Israel out of Egypt with your mighty hand, mountains skipped like rams, and hills like lambs. Still today, you save your people; you rescue and you liberate; you mend and you heal; you discipline and you sanctify. O God, open our eyes that we may see your work of salvation in our lives. May we respond to your love expressed in salvation so freely, so joyfully;             dancing, skipping, roaring, clapping, singing together for joy! We love you, trust you, savor you, adore you, worship you, make much of you, through Jesus Christ,                                                                                                                   Amen.  Rev Victor Han, Pastor Houlton UMC and Hodgdon UMC
