A daily prayer during this COVID-19 crisis
During these difficult days, members of the Many Waters District of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week. You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.
Today’s prayer
“while he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness. He came to a broom bush, sat down under it and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, LORD,” he said. “Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors.” --I Kings 19:4
Loving Lord,
We have been on this Exodus journey for many months. It came upon us suddenly and we went forth, not knowing when or where we would finish.
As the days fall away and seem to blend together help us to stay focused. Help us avoid the distractions that can take our attention.
Help us to trust in your promise that you go with us and before us.
Do not let us become fatigued; do not let us become discouraged as we seek and find new ways to share your love with the world.
Remind us of your presence in ways that we can remind others they, too, do not journey alone.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
