A daily prayer during this COVID-19 crisis for January 31, 2021

January 31, 2021 A daily prayer during this COVID-19 crisis During these difficult days, members of the Commonwealth West District of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week. You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.

Today's prayer

Hallelujah!

Gathered, Beloved of Yahweh,

here we are in your holy presence.

I can't help but talk about how good you are

and how good you have been.

From birth, you breathed into me the breath of life.

As I grew from a stumbling toddler to a child with skinned knees,

you welcomed me into the congregation through the waters of baptism.

As a young adult, God, even as life got hard,

and wilderness seemed to overwhelm,

you waited patiently for me to return.

Upon returning to your loving arms, how awesome, how awe-struck,

I was to know the meaning and power of your never failing grace!

How grateful I am to know that you have invited me to be in

worshipful, praise-filled service

to you and to all God's people.

Hallelujah!
