A daily prayer during this COVID-19 crisis
During these difficult days, the United Methodist Foundation of New England
is sharing a daily prayer based on
the Revised Common Lectionary for the week. You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.
Today’s prayer
Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 124:8
Oh Lord, Where can we receive help but from your outstretched hand. You are the Maker of heaven and earth. Even in the midst of turmoil and tragedy, you continue to pour out your blessings, grace and mercy upon us. Even in the midst of trials and tribulation, joy cometh in the morning. When we stand firm upon the rock, we know in the deepest depths of our souls, that we are yours, and nothing can ever change that. You gather us under your wings like a mother hen protecting her chicks from the storm. The waters may rise, but you never let us go under. Thank you, Jesus, for ALL that you have provided even when things seem the bleakest. If you care for the birds of the air, how much more do you care for your children? May we rest in your saving grace and greet every morning saying, “This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.” For only you can bestow true joy, regardless of surrounding circumstances and events. We are grateful and thankful for you Jesus, and your gift of salvation for all that will receive it! May your praise be forever on our lips! Amen
