A daily prayer from the New England Conference
The clergy and laity of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week. You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.
Today's Prayer
O God, in all your glory and majesty, We profess that this world and everying in it belongs to you, We pledge our allegiance to you as our Creator, O God of the universe. We worship you because you are the worthy to be praised, We know these truths remain true but let us ponder, When was the last time we truly felt the presence of God, we experienced boundless joy, we danced in jubilation, we sang a new song for the Lord? Many of us have been eagerly waiting for the gates to be lifted up, Many of us have been yearning to sing praises in our familiar sanctuary, Many of us have been missing traditional christian fellowship with each other, For many of us, the pandemic has reformed our ways of worship only to remind us of the true meaning of it, We have seen your glory rise above new challenges, We have been encouraged by the strength of our beloved communites, We have received your blessings unfailingly, We have gained confidence in our salvation, O God, Restore the passionate heart of worship within us, Stir in us a desire to offer our whole beings as your sanctuary, Send your spirit to fill us and lead us to sing and dance in your glory, Make us holy and pure to represent the power of your salvation. Amen. Rev. Taesung Kang, Granite District Supertintendent Based on 2 Samuel 6:1-5, 12b-19 and Psalm 24
