James 1:12

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

Life itself is a test, really. We talked a lot last night about faith being the stepping stone to relationship with God. In this life full of trials, do I hold on to my faith, keep my eyes on Jesus? Or do I live “on my own”, dog-paddling until I find solid ground again? What would God rather I do? That answer is pretty easy. Why do I ever try to do things on my own?

Holy Lord, you are here with me, and are willing always to hold my hand. I am sorry if I ever forget that, even for a moment. Amen

Then I think of others and realize I need to removed my perceived roadblock and move forward.

Prayer: Gracious God, May I always remember those who endure and struggle to stay ahead. AMEN

I am still learning that faith and trust are the only positive attitude to have when facing difficulties. Often when I am  going through difficult situations, I can’t see the forest from  the trees. I lose sight of God and so I try…
