Ephesians 1:8b-10

With all wisdom and understanding, he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment —to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.

These verses give us a little insight into God’s plan, and it clearly involves Jesus Christ. However, the timing is unclear: “when the times reach their fulfillment.” I can only move forward in this world, with God, not knowing the answers. The alternative is unacceptable.

Holy Lord, your will is a mystery to me. Sometimes I see a glimmer or have a sense that I know what you are intending for me to know. It is clear to me I am to follow Jesus. As for timing, I will follow Him forever. Amen

Ephesians 1:8b-10

I may not know why God does not reveal his plan, nor should I, but it is made clear that Jesus is the main ingredient. This tells us to focus on Christ and living in a way to honor him. His plan guide us toward Grace and His Kingdom.

Dear God, thank you for your Grace and that you have revealed to us what is the path to your Grace. Please guide me always. Amen

This scripture was our reading for 1/9/25 The subject matter was MYSTERY.  As I continue to read God’s word each day, some verses remain mysterious to me BUT it is still a mystery to me why God chose all of us  to be saved. The timing of  God’s will can be found in the Bible. What caused so much sin in the world.,Why the…

Ephesians 1:8b-10

Being a living thing, Scripture is often enigmatic. What are we to make of, “to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment”? In that this kind of phrase is in Scripture at all, it warrants our attention and meditation. But I think it would be misguided to dwell on trying to figure out just when the times reach their fulfillment. I agree with Becky that our task is to live in such a way that honors and glorifies God, whether that time comes tomorrow or a thousand years from now.

Prayer - Unburden Your children, Lord, from the uncertainty of Your timing and free us to live in such a way as to point others…
