1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
This passage seems to be describing the kind of courage it takes to do the right thing, when doing the wrong thing seems easier, faster, safer, etc. By God’s grace, I am already equipped to turn away from sin. But sometimes I need a little more help to do so, and this courage also comes from God. God provides it all. Again, verse 3 from Psalm 138 speaks so clearly to me.
When I called, you answered me; you made me bold and stouthearted. Amen

1 Corinthians 10:13
Temptation isn’t sin; it’s when we act on the temptation that it becomes sin. And it can destroy lives. it takes a lot of courage to face temptations. Temptation never ceases as we grow older. I can’t believe I’m 77 years old and still struggling with these issues. There are many verses in Scripture where i/we could go to guide me/us with this issue but in 1 Corinthians 10:13 Paul reminds us that learning from the past is a very important factor in facing temptation, but still past consequences for me are always a challenge when it comes to temptation I have to rely on the Holy Spirit. Again this reminds me of Rom…
1 Corinthians 10: 13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
I have to remember on a daily basis that God never gives us more then we can handle. He is always there for me helping me through life’s challenges. And in that trial, I can always find good. I may need to look very hard, but the good is there. God gives me the courage I need through the Holy Spirit to find the good out of the bad. Courage is…

We have temptations that are common to mankind, so they can be overcome as others have overcome them. Even addictions can be overcome, although the temptations continue every day. With help from our faith, we find the “way out” that Paul promised.
Dear Lord thank you for the courage to face life’s temptations. With your help we can do it. Amen.
1 Corinthians 10:13
I keep thinking of the phrase characterizing sin as “what is common to man,” and come to the sad realization that there is no sin too depraved for the human mind. Even worse, as time marches on more people feel perfectly free to yield to the temptation of their sinful thoughts. I have never made the connection between courage and resisting temptation, perhaps because I mis understand
