Ephesians 2:10
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
I so very much believe this is true! God created each of us, with our particular gifts and talents, so that we could live out the life He intended for us. This has taken me on a journey, and thankfully the journey continues, and has become richer as I get older. It is true there are rough spots and slow patches when we lose our way, or feel we don’t really know what to do next. But God is our guide and our light, and if we ask Him, I believe He will show us the way.
Holy Lord, I am thankful for your light shining on my path. Help each and every one of us who seek you, to find the way you have set for us. We want to do your will. Amen

Ephesians 2:10
At various times I have been directed to take a “spiritual gifts survey,” most recently this week in response to a request by the conference. There were no surprises in the results, but it is probably a good idea to get independent feedback and assessment of what one’s gifts may be every so often. We are indeed God’s handiwork and we would not want to waste that creativity in the wrong place. It would be like using a saw to insert a screw. Having a good sense of what one’s gifts are allows God’s call on our lives and what we can do for others to become much clearer.

Our good works will not save us, but they are part of God’s plan and what he had in mind in saving us. Every one of us was pre-planned and pre-prepared by God. We are God's creation, his treasure, his masterpiece. He carefully crafted all our parts: physical, emotional, and spiritual. God does not take any shortcuts or get lazy in His creation. But I am still a work in progress. I need to be intentional about living and leading at the level God designed for me. Continue to use the gifts…
Ephesians 2:10
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do good things he planned for us long ago.
A line from my study Bible jumped out at me this morning. “If God considers us his masterpiece, we dare not treat others with disrespect or think of ourselves as inferior work.” I have known people who do not understand or know the talents they have. They often think too big. They focus on what they can’t do rather than on what they can do. Often this leads to inaction and to feeling poorly about themselves. If only they could see the simple talents we all have—make a phone call, write a…
