A Daily Devotion for Thursday, September 24

Ephesians 1:8-10, 16-19

verses 17-19b I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.

This wisdom I am seeking is God-wisdom. It is the wisdom of relationship with him. It is His to give, according to His will. I need to open my heart, to keep my eyes and my ears open, as well. Any opportunity I have to thank God, to look to God, to ask God for help I should utilize. He has called me to him, and he calls each and every one of us in a different way. We must answer and be open to what God wants to show us.

Father God, I will listen and look for you. I will try to hear and understand what you are setting before me. No matter what, I will love you. Amen

God revealed His mysterious plan that He purposed in Christ which brings unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ. His plan is mysterious from a human being’s perspective. Without the lavishing of His wisdom and understanding we might not understand His plan and will. We need His wisdom and help/guidance of the…

Ephesians 1:9-10 - [God] has made known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure that he set forth in Christ, as a plan for the fullness of time, to gather up all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.

I have always wondered about the frequently seen phrase in Scripture, “the fullness of time.” My faith tells me that whenever that is, it will bring restoration of God’s creation which humankind has so badly damaged. It is not for us to say this or that is a sign that end times are here. Our role is to use the wisdom we have been given to work for the plan, set forth in…

Ephesians 1:  8-10

Without God’s grace, no person can be saved . he gives it to us because of his mercy and love.  To receive God’s grace we need to give praise and adoration to him because none of us can save ourselves.  The only way we can receive this enormous love  is through faith in Christ. I am being lavished with wisdom and understanding from our sovereign God who is totally in charge of the universe and yet he hears and listens to my every word. He gives me power and peace beyond understanding. My hope and faith is not a feeling that our future will be positive, but I am totally trusting the victory that only God will…
