Isaiah 32:1-8
verse 8: But the noble man makes noble plans, and by noble deeds he stands.
This is so beautiful! When I read the passage for today, these verses came at me in bold. The word noble makes me think of a king or someone who is blessed with all kinds of riches, and really needs nothing else- a person who needs nothing, yet is generous and kind to others. This person does good things not to earn good favor, but because it is the right thing to do. The noble person is thankful for their own blessings and willingly shares.
Holy Lord, help me to be noble. You have blessed me with more than I need or deserve. I am so thankful. Amen

Isaiah 32:8
But the noble man makes noble plans and by noble deeds he stands.
I feel tremendous admiration and gratitude toward those who inspire me, teach me and make the world a better place. I also have a way of comparing myself to them, with an uneasy feeling that I’m not enough; that I don’t show up well in the compari I can somehow feel small in relation to those whose influence is greater than mine is likely to ever be. I wonder uneasily if I should be doing more. Striving for more. Sacrificing more. What if, instead of feeling uneasily diminished by the actions of those I admire, I remember my own humanity? What if I remember that I/we…
Isaiah 32: 1-8
3 Then the eyes of those who see will no longer be closed, and the ears of those who hear will listen.
I read this verse and feel that it speaks to me. My eyes and ears have been open and I now hear the teachings of Jesus in a way I never experienced before. I wake up every day and want to be better for Christ. This is new to me. I always believed, but now I want to learn more about God and want to be a better person, because of the way Christ speaks to me. Perhaps this is what it means to have a deep-rooted faith.
Dearest Lord, thank you for opening my…

8 But the noble make noble plans, and by noble deeds they stand.
This verse sounds great and attractive to me. Although I have a sinful nature and the Spirit of God in me, when I do something or make a decision, everything I do came from the inside of me. All visible things (sometimes invisible things) came out of the invisible things inside of me. So, what I have inside of me is so important because everything visible and invisible that came out of me is the visible version of the invisible in me.
My God, My Lord, thank you for giving me to have noble things in me to be able…
Isaiah 32:2 - “Each will be like a hiding place from the wind,
a covert from the tempest,
like streams of water in a dry place, like the shade of a great rock in a weary land.“
The prophet has chosen very evocative images of righteousness and justice. If we suddenly had an outpouring of these noble things in our world today the relief would be palpable. We would feel it deep in our souls and be refreshed. That is why, despite all we see around us, we must continue to pray for righteousness and justice to prevail over the dark forces of this world.
God of righteousness and justice, help us to turn from our wicked ways so that…
