1Corinthians 2:6-13
verses 12-13: We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.
These words remind me of part of Pastor Gil’s message on Sunday. We often ask for God’s help to aid us when witnessing to others. We ask for the right time to speak, the right words to say, the right way to say the words. But it is the Holy Spirit in us which will connect with the one we are addressing. That is the power of our witness. I struggle with this in “real life” because in the moment I want to say and do just the right thing. But if I am paying attention and allowing the Spirit to move through me, God’s work will be done.
Holy Father, I need more confidence to allow your Spirit to work through me. Help me to ignore worldly pressures and concerns and to be an instrument of your will. Help me to bring others to you. Amen

1 Corinthians 2:6-13
God is a giving God. Because of that,he gives us strength or power in our inner being through the Holy Spirit. All he asks is that we confess our sins, ask forgiveness, and surrender our lives to him. There is no work we have to do to earn this Spirit — it is a gift of God. When we are saved, we are set on a new journey and the Holy Spirit is given to us to help us make that journey. Because of this gift, as a Christian, I want to know what God is telling me but it’s not always easy hearing His voice or understand the messages that may be right in front of me. So many…
1 Corinthians 2: 6-13
11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
I often wonder why God allows bad things to happen to good people. God knows I think this way, I can’t hide it from him. The Spirit inside of me stays quite. He does not answer me. Then I realize that whatever has happened is God’s will. I may not understand the why, but I have come to understand that at that time, God must feel that it is necessary.
Dearest Spirit, help me to understand the messages. Sometimes this can be very
difficult. I need to…

11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
No one knows the thoughts or hearts of God without the Spirit of God. Therefore, I need to make separate time with God for praying, asking, and consulting with Him. Without the guidance of the Holy Spirit, everything we do might be our works or our contribution that God might not require. So it is important to ask God what He wants me to think, meditate, deepen, and do and receive something inspired by the Spirit of God.
Father, our God, thank…
1 Corinthians 2:7 - “But we speak God’s wisdom, secret and hidden, which God decreed before the ages for our glory.”
In Paul’s time, as in ours, those who consider themselves and are perceived by others as “wise,” resist or reject God’s wisdom. As the “wise” of Jesus’ day rejected Him, this should come as no surprise. Our role is in being faithful to what has been “decreed before the ages for our glory.” We must always bear this in mind when skeptics strut their worldly “wisdom “ to ridicule the wisdom of God.
Prayer - God of wisdom, make we wise in Your ways and precepts and let me be a faithful purveyor of Your wisdom to a misguided…
