Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

The phrase “in all your ways acknowledge him” jumps out at me this morning. Although God’s grace precedes us and follows us, we must be in relationship with God to recognize his grace in the here and now. It is in turning to God and asking for help that I most powerfully experience His grace. This is where I must look for courage. The courage which God provides is divine, and can endure all things.

Holy Father, you are always willing to give me courage. Help me to remember to ask. Amen

Proverbs 3: 5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths The wisdom in Proverbs 3:5-6 right along with John 3:16 and Romans 12: 2. are necessary for every situation I/we face in life. These are my very favorite Scripture lessons . If I acknowledge God in all that I do he promises to direct my path. If I Believe and trust his every word, I shall have an everlasting life. As he leads me I will not conform to the way of this world but be transformed than I can be assured that I will arrive at the right place a…

Proverbs 3: 5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight.

I think at times it is difficult to follow the teachings in these verses, but we should. We should trust in God because no matter what happens in our lives, God is in control. Things happen for our own good even if we don’t understand the why. Our trust in God should be unconditional. We need to have the courage to trust God in good times and in bad times. Even when we don’t understand the why, you will eventually see why things happened the way they did,…

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Like so many things that the bible tells us to do, this can be difficult. I tend to rely on myself initially and leaving my fate in God’s hands is something that I have to consciously decide to do. I should have learned by now that my way doesn’t work and that there are many things that I cannot control.

Dear Lord, thank you for continuing to show me the way. It does take courage to rely on you first. Amen.

Proverbs 3:5-6

“Lean not on your own understanding.” This is precisely what Western culture has done since the so-called “Enlightenment.” Western culture in general turned from God to exalt and worship humanism, science and reason. Even prominent theologians took this route, rejecting crucial Christian doctrines and greatly damaging the church. These effects linger to this very day. Christians who still believe Jesus is the incarnate Word of God, born of a virgin, worked miracles of healing and power over the natural world, was crucified bearing the sin of the world, but was bodily resurrected and left us the Holy Spirit to carry on His mission, must have the courage to acknowledge and proclaim this to make the path of the…
