Ephesians 1:8b-10
With all wisdom and understanding, he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment —to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.
These verses help remind me that God does not want me to be totally clueless, without any idea of “why” or “what for.” He sent Jesus Christ to teach me, to enlighten me, and to give me hope! Not only was man allowed to look directly at God in Jesus, but he was allowed to ask questions and walk alongside of Him!! Of course, God’s will is too infinitely complicated for any of us to fully understand, but we are given a window in, by knowing Jesus.
Holy Lord, today I am reminded that although your ways remain a mystery, you have shown me much through Christ Jesus. Help me to see alll that I am shown by you, and to live fully in your will. Amen

Ephesians 1:8b-10
Paul is reminding the disciples and us to remember all we learned during Christ's time with us and what he said about the future after Christ's sacrifice. We know there is a plan but the mystery is in the timing of that plan. Our job is to continue to learn and study, worship and serve, then we will be ready when his plan comes to fruition.
Prayer: Gracious God, give us the patience to believe in the future you offer as we continue to do your work here on earth. AMEN

Ephesians 1:8-10
Which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.
At first this scripture was difficult for me to understand. This is why my study Bible is so important. Jesus was God’s purpose, to achieve the mystery of his forever plan. Jesus
had already come into the world, died and risen from the dead. I still cannot fully grasp all the wonderful implications of Christ’s love for us. We need to pray for one…
Ephesians 1:8b-10
Paul packs a lot of theology into a short passage here. God, Source of all wisdom and understanding, shares it with us in ways and at the times of God’s choosing. Our biggest “dose” of wisdom and understanding of God’s mysteries came in the Incarnation. For roughly three years Jesus guided and taught and in that process, changed the course of human history. If I can absorb and demonstrate a tiny fraction of the wisdom and understanding of Jesus, then I have had a life well-lived. As for God’s timing, that will forever remain a mystery to me and I am left with the believers’ standbys of faith, hope and trust.
