Matthew 28:19-20
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.“
These are words spoken by Jesus. If I ever find myself feeling unsure or doubtful, this is one of the scripture passages that can immediately ground me. There is no question of Jesus’ plan for the world. There is no question of whether Jesus was speaking only to the Jews of the day or to mankind everywhere “to the end of the age.” I need never feel alone.
Holy Lord, I am so thankful for your written word, and how you speak to me. I will remember that you are with me always. Amen

It is always comforting to know that Jesus is always with me, even when I get distracted and don’t put Him first. He will always be my center steppingstone, everything else moves from him. Would I be anxious to comfort someone who had turned their back on me? Maybe, maybe not. I would like to think I would comfort them, but I can say I might not be anxious to do so… Jesus would and shows me I should too.
Heavenly Father, please lead me to treat others You treat me. Amen

Matthew 28:19-20
Go therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
We can all pretty much agree that a disciple of Jesus is one who trusts and follows Him and obeys all of His teachings. (Wow… I know he will never give up on me.) At my age, how do I even begin this command. This verse begins with GO. He doesn’t mind if it’s across the street or across the country. This verse is also helpful…
Matthew 28:19-20
Known by Christians as “The Great Commission,” the final words are too often overlooked. Yes, we have been given the privilege of being witnesses for the Good News of Jesus Christ, but it is imperative for us to remember we do not do this alone. Jesus’ declaration, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age,” is simultaneously comforting and stunning. It is the counter to loneliness that every believer can claim in all times and in all places.
Prayer - Saving God, I pray thanksgiving for salvation through Jesus, the Son and cling to the fellowship of the Holy Spirit as my constant and trustworthy companion on the Way. Help me remember…
Matthew 28:19-20
I sing a song that is about trusting the Lord. It reinforces this message: "God has not Left you, you re not alone." Matthew ends his story with Jesus's words reminding us that He will be with us ALWAYS. Day after day, week after week, month after month, and year after year. We need to remember this when we are at our lowest and feel abandonded and alone--we are not!
Prayer: Gracious God, May I always remember these words: "I am with you always." AMEN
