Ephesians 4:13 ...until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
Once again we are reading about becoming mature Christians. I wonder what that will feel like? Will I be calmer, more patient, less anxious? Will I be more generous and quicker to forgive? Will I be bolder in my faith and more willing to share and witness to others? There is so much room for growth and change in me, it is truly a wonder God has not given up on me altogether.
Father God, you hold me in your hands, and have not dropped me. I am in awe. Please help me to grow. Amen

Ephesians 4:13
“Unity” and “maturity” are not two words that come readily to mind when describing the state of society in the last half of 2020. It appears our poisonously polarized culture cannot come to an agreement on even the most basic of issues and our response to that disagreement is anything but mature. This state of affairs should come as no surprise as Christ has been marginalized by the culture. It is up to believers to demonstrate that what Paul calls “the whole measure of the fullness of Christ” is a pathway of love, compassion, empathy and peace. We dishonor Jesus by allowing His message to be twisted by those who reject Him and willfully mischaracterize His followers.
