Romans 12:2

Psalm 51:10-12 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

These verses are finding me right where I am this morning. I am ashamed at myself sometimes- how angry and indignant I can become over a laughably small matter. Thankfully it does not happen often, but I certainly do have some buttons that can be pushed. I could think of these events as times I get stuck in the mud. Sticky, sucking mud holding me back. When I keep things clean, is it less likely to happen? Rain can bring cleanliness and new growth, and it can make mud. With God’s help, I can and must try to keep my heart clean.

Father God, please help me to see the rain you send to me as a way to stay clean, and to grow. Help me to avoid getting mired in conflict and hurt feelings. Amen

God  has revealed something about himself that can make even  sinners feel safe and confident in his presence. David knows he’s fallen into awful, sin, and yet he comes boldly before God to ask for forgiveness and cleansing. Having a clean heart means having the utmost…

Romans12:2 - “ Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Paul has zeroed in on the essence of the Christian life. A commitment to God in Christ through the Holy Spirit is a transformative event. Our way of going about our daily business should readily identify us as followers of Jesus. Our mind is renewed, and we keep it that way by staying in the Word daily.

Prayer - God of what is good, acceptable and perfect, I am Yours to shape, mold and renew. Help me to be Your faithful ambassador to a…
