Philippians 2:3-4
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of others.
Being a good leader is setting a good example. I am reading a biography of Theodore Roosevelt. He was a very popular leader during his years in the White House just after the turn of the century. He seemed to be a leader who truly wanted what was going to ultimately benefit everyone. He was involved in a lot of new legislation around the railroads, prices of transporting goods over the state borders, etc. He recognized the huge importance of the railroad system, the importance of keeping those in control somewhat happy as well as those who needed the railroad for their own livelihoods. And he recognized the plight of the farmer and the men in the coal mines. He seemed to really take into account everyone and to find solutions that helped the most people. People looked to him as a leader. I am thinking about how important it is to try not to take sides in every situation, but to look for a solution that benefits the most.
Holy Lord, I will never be a president or leader of many. But I can and should be aware of how my behavior affects others. Help me to always consider others. If you put me in leadership situations, help me to recognize this and be your best representative as a Christian. Amen

Philippians 2:3-4
Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
Selfish ambition goes hand-in-hand with the desire of wanting what someone else has. .i don’t believe I have ever been envious and jealous of others. I would never want to bring others down so that I can be lifted up. Many of our leaders today are self serving and unwise, deceived and are strangers to the truth. God's wisdom is pure, peace-loving, considerate, full of mercy, impartial and sincere. If we want to be wise, we must humble ourselves and…
Philippians 2:3-4
My message yesterday dealt in part with how the Pharisees were consumed with appearances, moral preening and virtue signaling. They were far from humble and despite being designated as leaders, fomented as much resentment as respect. Their’s is a “How Not to Do It” manual of leadership.
Prayer - Lord God, in all I do, remind me to be humble with others, placing their value and interests above my own. When in leadership, may I lead with Your precepts as my guide. Amen
