James 1:17
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
We are blessed with so many “good and perfect gifts.” I think it is easy to forget this when things happen which are not good, and are not perfect. God’s goodness does not change. Our circumstances change, and the free will and poor decisions of others (and of ourselves) can create some very painful outcomes. But everything that is good, and all that is beautiful and comforting and rejuvenating comes from God. It is all available to us for comfort and healing. I pray today that God’s goodness be the lens through which I see and experience this life. Amen
