A Daily Devotion for Monday, January 25

Updated: Jan 26, 2021

Titus 3:1-7

verse 1: Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men.

“....and to show true humility toward all men.” This seems easy enough, but do I live out these words? I do not think I do. Am I humble enough to admit I am no better than anyone else? God created each and every one of us. Some people are born into or fall into such a difficult existence. It is easy to take for granted all of the blessings and fortunate outcomes that have brought me to where I am today. God is watching to see what I do with these blessings.

Father God, I am so thankful. I will try to be more generous, more compassionate and more humble. I can start right here in our community. I am thankful for your many blessings. Amen

Becky, I love the line you wrote: God is watching to see what I do with these blessings. I need to remember that line when I step back and think maybe someone else will do it and I can relax. He has given me so very much, I must give back two fold.

Titus 3:3-5 For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, This is a perfect description of me, before I came to Jesus. This is the way of the world and the flesh. Selfish, unsaved people do all the things above, because they are listening to the desires of their flesh. Until we receive the perfect love of Jes…

20210125 Monday, Daily Devotion - Titus 3:2-3 (NIV)

2 to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone.

3 At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived, and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.

Today’s scriptures say “must slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone” (v.2) because at one time we were foolish, disobedient, deceived, and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another” (v.3). We as Christians who were born again through Christ Jesus should not judge…

Titus 3: 1-7

4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit

Re-newel by the Holy Spirit. This is the gift that God our Savior and His love for us gave us by His mercy. It is through the Holy Spirit that we are given a chance to get things right time and time again. The Holy Spirit gives us directions and teaches us the way. Jesus’ love and mercy has given us that second chance at living the way we should as Christians.

Dearest Lord…

I believe we can all remember to be humble when it may not be easy to remember this is the way Jesus wants us to be. Every day is a new day to refresh and re-member.
