Matthew 13: 24-30
In the parable of the weeds, the man who owned the fields instructed his men to leave the weeds where they were. Trying to remove them might damage the good seedlings. Ultimately the weeds would be dealt with. This is excellent advice for me to follow. Sometimes I find myself complaining about others who have
“ broken the rules.” This is not my concern. Their behavior does not need to damage me. They will do what they will do. I will try to do the right thing.
Father God, help me. I will try harder to take care of myself and make decisions which please you. What others do or don’t do is not for me to judge. Amen

20210115 Friday, Daily Devotion - Matthew 13:24-30
Today’s story gives me an answer to why there are good and evil, bad, or terrible things together in our lives. What God is looking for His people in this complicated and nonsense world is to discern what is good or evil and make a wise choice among them. We can’t run away from evil attacks because they are always looking for the people who are weak to devour. Therefore, we need to keep exercising and strengthening the muscle of our spiritual discernment through His Word.
Father God, thank you for giving me another opportunity to recognize the world from Your perspective with Your purpose. Holy Spirit, help and guide me to keep…
Morning Devotion Matthew 13:24-30 Jesus parable of weeds and seeds comes right after yesterdays reading of seeds and soils. As a gardener, Jesus’ advice to just let the weeds grow goes against everything I’ve learned. I would not have beautiful flowers or a great crop of vegetables if I left the weeds. But Jesus’ weeds are the evil in this world. I can control those in my garden, but I cannot control what’s happening in the world around me. I can only surround myself with the good In this world and try to spread it wherever I go and whatever I do. Prayer: Gracious God help keep me on the straight path of your love and not get stuck…
This is a good reminder for everyone. We all need a reality check now and then. We need not feel we have to try to fix things in others. Ultimately we are responsible for ourselves and let go and let God.
Matthew 13:24-30
In this parable God is the farmer explaining the Kingdom of heaven. He is the ultimate judge of men’s hearts. Unfortunately there are some people who will reject God’s grace, and will not go to Heaven.(these would be the weeds) But it is not my job to decide who those people are. I sometimes am tempted to look at someone’s appearance or actions, and think that they are not like me or that they should be ignored or cast aside.I might point fingers and think I know better than other people. That’s simply not true. i don’t know what is in the hearts of those around me. I don’t get to play judge or condemn certain people. Al…
Matthew 13: 24-30
29 “No, he answered, because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.”
God is patient. His primary care and concern is for the good seed. He will not jeopardize our growth. God encourages our personal and spiritual growth through the Holy Spirit working within us. He is delighted when we bear good fruit. Good and evil co-exist in this world we live in and we have to learn to deal with it. We…
