Psalm 23:4
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
When I started to think about assurance, I did not think of the 23rd psalm. But of course, it is 100% assurance! David knew God was with him, always. And we have had the miraculous blessing of knowing Jesus Christ! We, like David, have God with us every moment. In addition, we have been promised eternal life with Him; we can endure anything, any fear. There is no stronger or more powerful source of comfort.
God above, your Word is powerful and comforting. You led David, and reassured him. Lead me, Lord, in my quiet life, and help me to have peace and assurance. Amen

Psalms 23:4
In describing the lord as a Shepard, David wrote from his own experience because he had spent his earlier years caring for sheep .
Do people really think that when you become a Christian, all your troubles go away. Do they think if you have any problems, there must be something wrong with your faith. The author of this psalm, David, was a man after God’s own heart despite his great devotion to Him, he often found himself walking through the dark times of life. Psalm 23: 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort.
God is my shepherd. God’s chief concern is to do everything He can for my well-being. My trust in God to always be there for me is something I work on every day. God provides for my spiritual and mental well-being. As a person who likes to be in control, this is something I work on every day. Trusting Him to take care of me and my not attempting to help Him. The assurance that He loves me is my greatest gift.
Dearest Lord, you are always there taking care of me.…
Psalm 23:4
Scripture never assures us we will be free from trouble if we believe. In this world we will have trouble. On the other hand, we are repeatedly assured that God walks with us through that trouble. The outcome may not be what we hoped for, but even in the worst of times we are given the assurance that God will never leave us, nor forsake us.
Prayer - God of comfort, my troubles are few, and knowing You walk with me is a great assurance. Help me to remember this essential truth when more difficult troubles come. Amen
